SACRO-SERENA-BRANCALE-album

“SACRO” is the title of Serena Brancale's new album (out Friday 10 April).

The album arrives four years after the last album “Je sò accussì” in 2022.

At the 76th edition of the Sanremo Festival he presented “Qui con me”, a dedication to his mother capable of avoiding rhetoric and making a luminous confession. The song earned her the “Lucio Dalla” Press Room Award, the Lunezia Award and the TIM Award, awards that certified not only the emotional impact of the song but a now evident authorial maturity.

On the covers evening, at the Ariston Theatre, the meeting with Gregory Porter and DELIA on “Bésame Mucho” by Consuelo Velázquez staged a close dialogue between jazz, soul and songwriting, with a measured and dense arrangement.

“SACRO” moves beyond that intimate perimeter. If “Here with me” was a private conversation, here the discussion broadens: roots and spirituality, belonging and freedom, matter and transcendence.

Nu-soul remains the backbone, jazz continues to filter into the writing, R&B is intertwined with a Mediterranean sensitivity that is not folklore but rhythmic tension. The Apulian origins become structure and not simple color.

What emerges is a work that alternates groove and concentration, bodily momentum and formal discipline. “SACRO” is not a declaration of intent, it is a point of balance. And it confirms Brancale as one of the most recognizable Italian voices in the international dialogue between tradition and contemporaneity.
