“Star”, the new release from Iceage

Music news

Five years of recording silence have come to an end.

The acclaimed Danish band iceage has marked his powerful return to the music scene with the release of a new single, “Star”their first taste of unreleased material since the release of their acclaimed 2021 album, Seek Shelter. This launch comes after a period of remarkably independent activity from its charismatic leader, Elias Ronnenfeltwho kept busy with solo projects like Heavy Glory (2024) and Speak Daggers (2025), exploring creative facets that, without a doubt, have enriched the band's perspective. Furthermore, in 2022, iceage shared Shake the Feelingan album that compiled rarities and archival material.

Faithful to the philosophy of iceage to conceive each new album as an “evolution and a new way of playing” – according to official statements -, “Star” Yontroduces a new sonic element into his already diverse discography of five studio albums.

The single radiates vibrant energy, marked by the notable inclusion of an infectious rhythmic cadence that suggests a brighter emotional palette. The song itself, in its construction and atmosphere, “shines” as a powerful indication of what the next era of the group holds, suggesting a turn towards the affirmative without losing the intensity that characterizes them.
