The Italian artist Lil Mile also has a nomination for the Grammy Awards this year

Filippo Migliorini, aka Lil Mile, is an Italian artist originally from Verona, born in 1995.

Lil Mile, for the second consecutive year, is nominated for the Grammy Awards, which will be held on February 1 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Last year, Lil Mile was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Contemporary Blues Album category for his collaboration on Antonio Verga's album “The Fury”; This year he is nominated in the Best New Age, Ambient or Chant Album category, for collaborating on Chris Redding's “The Colors in My Mind”

But that's not all: Lil Mile has also been a member of the Recording Academy since 2024.

How did he do it? It was “recommended” by two members of the Recording Academy. To join the Recording Academy you must have a recommendation written and signed by two members and other requirements such as a minimum of one million streams, or more than fifteen active songs registered under BMI.

Lil Mile explained to me how Grammy nominations work. “To submit a song to the Grammys, you have to be a member, so you submit the song and then there's a first screening called Forior Consideration. At that point the best ten fifteen songs of each genre are chosen. Then we move on to the voting of the members of the Recording Academy and we arrive at the nominations, therefore the five best songs of each genre. Let's say that the nomination in itself is already a victory.

This year I also sent one of my songs into consideration, which passed in the first screening, all the ones I worked on passed and I'm very happy, plus one of these was also nominated. This is “Love Cure”, contained in the album “The Colors in My Mind” by Chris Redding, nominated in the Best New Age album category.

Now, in fact, I am in Los Angeles, I will participate in the ceremony on February 1st and we hope to take home the victory too, even if for me I have already won, because in any case the nomination is already a lot, also being the second nomination the second year in a row”.
