The start of the World Cup was filled with different genders and generations.

The inauguration of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ in Mexico CityIt reflected, through music, the global character of one of the most consumed sports in the world. Prior to the meeting between Mexico and South Africa, the opening show brought together various artists belonging to different genres and generations.

The show started with a tribute that stood out for praising the country's pre-Hispanic heritage, added to a welcome message given by Lila Downs in Spanish and English; This speech stood out for highlighting the union that is created through football, and then gave way to Manna with “Hey My Love”a song accompanied by the same dancers, while the public chanted the song.

Subsequently, Danny Ocean appeared to perform “Great game”a song that is part of the official album of the FIFA World Cup 2026™accompanied by dancers wearing traditional clothing. Then it was time to The Blue Angels next to Belinda to touch “For Her”where like the Venezuelan, they were accompanied by dancers to the rhythm of cumbia.

For its part, J Balvin began his participation with “How Hot”to later give way to a collaboration with Ryan Castro and close with “I Like It”a song originally performed with Cardi Bproviding an urban touch to the celebration.
