The photo of Pope Leo XIV wearing a pair of Nikes is viral

Everyone is talking about a photo that shows Pope Leo XIV wearing an ecclesiastical dress and wearing a pair of Nikes.

The photo is part of the trailer of the documentary “Leone in Rome” broadcast on Vatican media channels on the occasion of the first anniversary of the election, which recounts the years spent in the past by Prevost in the capital, but it is not new.

This image, in fact, was taken in 2008, in Sydney, where the future Pope participated, as Augustinian prior, in the XXIII World Youth Day, presided over by Pope Benedict XVI.

The Nikes worn by Leo XIV would be the Franchise Low, a very popular model among amateur tennis lovers, a sport that Pope Leo has always loved very much.
