These pieces are taken from Foreign Tonguestheir 26th album, whose release is announced on July 10.
Of the recording, Mick Jagger said: “I love recording in London, at Metropolis Studios. These sessions for Foreign Tongues were very intense. We had 14 excellent titles and we worked as quickly as possible. I really like this space, it's not too big, which allows you to feel all the energy and passion of everyone. »
Keith Richards adds: “Foreign Tongues is a continuation of Hackney Diamonds. It was great to work in London again, with this special atmosphere. A month of intense work. For me, it's all about the pleasure of playing. I'm lucky to be able to continue doing this, and I hope it lasts for a long time. »
Ronnie Wood comments: “The atmosphere in the studio was extremely creative, and the band was on top form throughout the entire process. Very often we succeeded on the first take. I hope the audience will love it. »
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, with Darryl Jones, Matt Clifford and Steve Jordan. It also features the late Charlie Watts, as the band used excerpts from his final recording session, before his death in 2021. Guest musicians include big names such as Steve Winwood, Paul McCartney, Robert Smith (The Cure) and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers).
