Thundercat releases “ThunderWave” with WILLOW

Thundercat is back with Distractedhis new album that arrives after It Is What It Is (2020). After several years of waiting, the Californian musician is preparing the launch of this material, which will also feature various collaborations, demonstrating his ability to mix sounds and work with artists from different genres.

Stephen Bruner He is one of the most influential bassists on the current scene. With a style that combines funk, jazz, soul and hip hop, the musician has built a career marked by sound experimentation. Over the years he has worked with artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Flying Lotus, Tame Impala and Gorillazconsolidating a musical identity that is difficult to pigeonhole.

His new album, Distractedwill be released on April 3, 2026 and marks the return of Thundercat after six years of recording silence. The project brings together a total of 15 songs and features collaborations with A$AP Rocky, WILLOW, Channel Three and Lil Yachty; In addition, it includes a posthumous participation by the rapper Mac Millerwho was one of the bassist's closest friends.

The most recent advance is “ThunderWave”a collaboration with WILLOW that mixes the voices of both artists in an organic way. The song becomes the fourth single that the musician presents, joining “She Knows Too Much (feat. Mac Miller)”, “I Did This To Myself (feat. Lil Yachty & Flying Lotus)” and “I Wish I Didn't Waste Your Time”songs that combine hip hop, funk and jazz without losing the seal that has accompanied the musician since the beginning of his career.
