Tycho joins forces with Paul Banks in “Boundary Rider”

Music news

A collaboration that connects the melancholy of Interpol with the expansive atmosphere of Tycho.

American producer and musician Scott Hansenbetter known as Tychopresents his new single “Boundary Rider”a collaboration with Paul Banksvocalist of Interpol. The topic comes after the release of Infinite Health (2024), and is presented as a piece of psychedelic and cinematic rock where electronic textures and ethereal guitars find balance with the deep and contained voice of Banks.

“Boundary Rider” was born from an instrumental titled “Forge”in which hansen He had worked for years. Upon meeting Banksfound in that composition the ideal space for his tone and lyrical sensitivity. Inspired by the stories of boundary riders Australians of the 1930s – solitary figures tasked with patrolling the fences in the vast western desert – the theme becomes a reflection on distance, routine and the search for connection in the midst of isolation.

Interpol has been one of my biggest influences for a long time, so I jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with Paul,” Hansen commented. “There's something about his voice that fits naturally with the atmosphere of the song.”

The result is an elegant fusion between the visual precision of Tycho and the contained melancholy of Banksgiving life to a song that captures the emotional immensity of the inner landscape.
