If you thought that 2025 couldn't surprise you more, La Oreja de Van Gogh has decided to end the year with a turn worthy of a movie: with the launch of its new single with Amaia Montero, We're all dancing to the same song. A song that premiered on La 1's New Year's Eve special.
The announcement came on December 23, a date that is no coincidence: the same day that, back in 1888, Vincent van Gogh cut off his ear. Yes, destiny has a sense of humor. That day we learned the title of the song and its cover, where the current members appear hugging and smiling.
Now, finally, we have been able to listen to this new song. A song that has been produced by Paco Salazar. But until its premiere in the special The House of Music on RTVE, just before the bells, there were more unknowns than certainties. What would it sound like? Would it be a dance hit or a ballad to cry on loop?

To warm up the engines, the band shared a text on social networks that seemed taken from a cosmic philosophy book: reflections on evolution, stars and the wonder of existing. Come on, we went from wondering about the new guitarist (because Pablo Benegas still doesn't appear) to questioning our place in the universe. Hidden message about Leire? About the future of the group? Total mystery.
And the time came: at 11:30 p.m., from the iconic La Concha beach in San Sebastián, Amaia, Xabi, Álvaro and Haritz They took the stage for a historic performance. Among artists like Nicki Nicole, Lola Índigo, Amaia Romero, Ana Torroja, Rosario and even Shakira, they had the mission of closing the year with magic. Did they achieve it? Yes. Is the song danceable? Rather calm, with a spiritual touch that left us with this phrase to remember: “I believe in God, in my own way”.
A performance that marked a new beginning
To premiere the song, the group opted to give Amaia Montero the lead role. The singer appeared dressed in a huge coat, keeping her face unknown until she started singing. And it surprised the band's followers, who are happy with this new single.
The theme talks about new beginnings. In fact, there is a phrase that could go perfectly with the new age philosophy of Van Gogh's The Ear: “Time and space and everything you see, are perhaps the shadows that Eden casts, where pride dies, today faith is born.”
And now what? Well it spins, spins and more spins. “So many things to tell” It has already sold half a million tickets and adds new dates in Badajoz, Córdoba, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Barcelona and Madrid. Because if one thing has become clear, it is that Van Gogh's Ear continues to be a phenomenon… even if we still don't know who plays the guitar.
Lyrics of We are all dancing to the same song
I who studied every shooting star
Heavenly precision, genius algorithm
I recognize that something doesn't fit me
That there is something more here
Time and space and everything you see
They are perhaps the shadows that Eden casts
Where pride dies
Today faith is born
I believe in God
my way
There are more questions than answers
In the northern lights
We are both
star dust
Mystery, light,
something supernatural
Today we are here and tomorrow we are not
In the endless night
a flash of sun
Being alive is a science fiction mystery
The rhythm of the sea and my breathing
the beats of your heart
We're all dancing to the same song
I believe in God in my own way
There are more questions than answers
In the northern lights
We are both stardust
Mystery, light,
something supernatural
And if now we start
An interstellar journey
Deciphering the origin of the Big Bang
I believe in God in my own way
There are more questions than answers
In the northern lights
And when you wake up
From the Earth
All my doubts and certainties
fall on humanity
If you told me yes
Waking up next to you
When I hear you laugh
I forget what I learned
