A new door has been opened Gizzverse and continues to improve.
About apocalyptic visions, where we need a space to stop thinking, lands the twenty-seventh album by King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizardwhere melodic and orchestral sounds are pronounced to dissociate mainly between strings, motivated by members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra to create something of this type. This album is a direct part of their previous album, Flight B741, By taking those songs that were not finished, this is how the formula for takeoff for this second part was deciphered.
The band's rhythms have always been a spiral that, at times, has a return to return to the meaning of the composition (although it is always present) it is on purpose to give emphasis to creation, as if they wanted to say: “This time we did make an effort.” When they suddenly want to disintegrate the musical world they return with new creations to contemplate more calmly and have more attention on their music. The 10 songs of Phantom Island are full of influences from different genres, we can listen to something that sounds like The Beatles, until Metallicaespecially the seventies vibes were present here.
Phantom Island has as collaborator Chad Kellya great composer who gives rise to interpretation, opera and musical theater, who accompanied them to write arrangements that resulted in a new presentation of psychedelic rock, another part of the band's multifaceted nature.
And what do the lyrics of this great work tell us? Stranded canoes that do not exactly reach earthly planes, loneliness interpreted by journeys of cosmic introspection: “One is everything and everything is one”, a journey through the discovery of being, questioning yourself about your role in the world, are we far or near the end? The most important thing is not to let the mind cease, for those who fight against existentialist thinking should not deny its nature, in the end it is a part of what helps us survive and cope with this world that seems darker. For the members, it currently seems more important to connect with people and with oneself. And what better than to make the thoughts that feel heaviest lighter with melodic sounds?
Everything is ready for the second stage of the Australian band, where Chad Kelly He is really excited to be with the members giving tremendous presentations in Australia and Europe at the end of this year, the lucky ones are the ones who will be in front of these shows seeing a new side of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, hoping as always that Latin America can be part of this new experience.
