There are album producers. There have been a lot of them in recent years: compilations of feat. forced together, pre-packaged formats that smell more of streaming strategy than inspiration.

And then there is “The beautiful confusion”. The most ambitious, painful, long-awaited and necessary project by Paolo Alberto Monachetti or Charlie Charles.

Charlie's story is that of someone who wrote the sound grammar of the 1910s. With Sfera Ebbasta defined Italian trap before we even knew how to call it that, shifting the center of gravity of national pop towards urban. But after having sewn the music of an entire generation onto others, the time has come to look in the mirror.

“La bella confusion” is not a “producer album” in the canonical sense: it is a shattered self-portrait, a record that uses the voices of others to tell about itself.

Each artist is a different reflection of Charlie, a fragment of his sonic memory. Not a mosaic of hits, but an emotional diary composed through a third party.

The beating heart of the album is “Paolo”: a dialogue with the child self, vulnerable, lost, but still full of amazement. It is there that beautiful confusion finds its purest form: that of chaos that becomes care, of insecurity that transforms into vision. There is ego but also truth. No ostentation, no filters, just the music returning to its zero point.

The result is an honest, lucid and collective work, which photographs the state of the Italian urban scene with a finally human filter. Around Charlie moves a constellation of artists who, more than guests, seem to be allies of the same mission: to restore to musical production the emotional weight that it had lost.

“The beautiful confusion” is everything a producer's album should be in 2025: imperfect, alive, deeply personal. And if it is true that the truth is hidden in the confusion, that of Charlie Charles is one of the clearest that the scene has shown in a long time.

And finally after the beauty of I will call you Love with Elisa and Madame the closing credits arrive with an orchestral instrumental piece riding with classical music. Symbol and sign of evolution.
Rebirth and birth!

A beautiful confusion, yes — but also a beautiful certainty.
