A completely different experience.

Daphnithe electronic music project of Dan Snaith (leader of Caribou), is back with his new album material, Butterflyafter a silence of four years. The release, which promises to envelop us in new sound textures and beatsis programmed foras of February 6, 2026 and it will be through the seal Jiaolong.

The Canadian songwriter has released two promotional singles in advance. The first, “Waiting So Long“, is a vibrant song for the dance floor that stands out for its surprising yeexciting collaboration of Caribou. The second single, “Lucky“, offers a completely different experience, transporting us to deep and immersive soundscapes that resonate in both the body and the mind.

Understandably, people always ask me about the difference between Caribou's music and Daphni's, and how I decide which is which. I think there have been times when the music I've created under both aliases has been further apart, and others—like right now—when they are more related. A key factor that has always differentiated them is my voice. I've never sung on a Daphni song. When I started 'Waiting So Long', it was initially instrumental. The lyrics and melody came to me while I was writing it and I just recorded it without thinking too much about it, but listening to it a few days later, it was the first time I had the feeling that a song belonged to both aliases, like Daphni had sampled Caribou's voice or something. I'm not in the middle of an existential crisis; I hope I haven't fallen too far into the waters of complacency. I don't worry too much about which topic ends up under which alias; in fact, quite the opposite. I worry less than ever and simply let my intuition guide me. In practice, I felt like it was a track that both Daphni and Caribou fans might want to hear,” the artist explained in a press release.
