Pink Floyd returns to the top of the British charts by winning the Christmas Number 1 Album 2025 with Wish You Were Here (50th Anniversary Edition), exactly fifty years after the first time the historic album reached the top of the charts in 1975.
A circular, almost symbolic return, made possible by the publication of the celebratory reissue for the 50th anniversary, available in physical and digital format, enriched by six alternative versions and unreleased demos that shed new light on the creative process of one of the cornerstone records in the history of rock.
The result also has an unprecedented statistical value: Pink Floyd set the record for the longest interval between the first and last album at Number 1, surpassing the Beatles.
More than 50 years pass between the first record in 1975 and the current one, equal to 2,620 weeks, beating the previous record held by Abbey Road, which returned to the top in 2019.
The achievement takes on additional weight because it represents Pink Floyd's second Number 1 in 2025, after Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII, the soundtrack to the historic 1972 concert film, restored in 4K and remixed by Steven Wilson. It is the first time that the British band has placed two albums at Number 1 in the same year.
SINGLES
Kylie Minogue rewrites the history of British pop by conquering Christmas Number 1 UK 2025 with XMAS, 37 years after his debut in the official charts with I Should Be So Lucky.
An awaited, almost mythological goal, which arrives at the most symbolic moment of the year and interrupts the two-year period of Christmas domination of WHAM!.
VINYLS
In addition to the top of the general ranking, Wish You Were Here (50) it also dominates the Official Vinyl Albums Chart and the Official Record Store Chart, making it the best-selling album of the week in independent stores in the United Kingdom.
