JOVANOTTI arrives at the Jova Giro. From Rome… to Rome

Music news

Jovanotti's journey crosses Italy. From Rome to…. Rome. The Jova Giro accompanies the Jova Summer Party on a pedal journey that transforms travel into story, the road into experience, time into music.

Rome, Circus Maximus, is the starting and return point. It is the city where Lorenzo Jovanotti was born, and it is from here that the Jova Giro takes shape: a route that not only connects concerts, but holds together vision, movement and desire.

The idea has recent and very concrete roots: it was born from the experience of the bike concert last July (a concert dedicated to just 5000 bikers) from which the first embryo of this project came to life. Not an appendix to the tour, but a change of perspective: the journey stops being a private interval and becomes part of the collective experience.

Music is Lorenzo's first great passion. The second is traveling mainly by pedal. When two passions recognize each other, they find a way to meet. From this meeting a summer is born which is both concert and crossing, stage and landscape, rhythm and breath. Sport and enhancement of internal territories, secondary roads, cycle paths, landscapes.

At the same time, another story for another of Jova's great passions also takes shape: after the success of Poesie da beach (2022), Lorenzo renews his collaboration with Nicola Crocetti in a new anthology, Poesie da viaggio, out on May 5th by Feltrinelli. Anthology of poetry from all times and places.

Words born along the way, to be read on the fly or left to settle, like certain landscapes.

The Jova Giro is an intimate and shared journey. With Lorenzo there will be a team of friends, the same ones who accompanied him on his rides towards Friuli. Some former world and Olympic professional cyclists, colleagues, companions with a passion for the two-wheeled road. A caravan of “my friends”, a small community on the move: people who wait, find each other, and share every kilometer and the evenings after the road, and maybe if a guitar appears…

The route climbs up to the Gran Sasso from the Lazio Apennines and descends towards the Adriatic, crosses the Italian summer line between the coast and the hinterland, passes by towns and enters the villages. Then it continues south, changes light and wind, crosses the Strait, travels through Sicily, and finally goes up the Tyrrhenian Sea.

It is an essential and challenging, but full, journey. Minimal in means, rich in encounters. Made of climbs and silences, of sudden laughter, of surprise dives and unplanned stops. A journey that does not look for shortcuts, but presence, thought, enjoyment of every single moment. Long chases to jump on the SUMMER PARTY stages that come on at weekends.

There is a phrase that Lorenzo loves to remember, by Tiziano Terzani, and which here becomes a compass:

The meaning of the research lies in the path taken and not in the destination; the purpose of traveling is traveling itself and not arriving.”

The stages of the JOVA SUMMER PARTY thus become landing places, arrival parties, moments of explosion after the road: a sort of musical Giro d'Italia in which each concert is a finish line and a new beginning. The dates between August and September 2026 draw a geography that finds its fulfillment in the return to Rome.

And there, at the Circus Maximus, the journey ends with Jova al Massimo, two events produced by Trident concerts and organized in collaboration with The Base, on 12 and 13 September organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Rome Department of Major Events. Not just two final concerts, but a return party. A point that becomes a circle.

Over time, Rome has also represented a special place in Jovanotti's live history, with sold-out concerts (Stadio Olimpico, and the recent ten sold out concerts at the last Palajova, at the Palazzo dello Sport) and consolidated a strong bond with the city's public. Today that bond is both departure and arrival.

The Jova Giro is a simple and radical idea. Go slow to go far. And remember that, while you pedal, the journey is already music.
