This is the information note from the organizers
The Parco della Musica di Milano 2026 review is confirmed. It continues regularly with its calendar of 19 concerts, in the same place and with the same experience for the public. Four appointments are an exception. The concerts of The Flaming Lips and TLC/Redman are sadly cancelled. The A Day To Remember and Garbage shows have been rescheduled at the Fabrique and Alcatraz in Milan respectively, on the same dates already communicated to the public. The first thought goes to those who have been waiting for those concerts for months. We know what this means, and we are sincerely sorry. Precisely out of the respect we owe to our public, we want to explain clearly what happened – declares Gualtiero Sabatini, CEO of Grande Stazione Srl – The causes were not of an organisational, productive or public safety nature, areas on which we have worked for months with the utmost diligence. At the origin there was a precise act: the manager of the Technical Services Area of the Municipality of Segrate assimilated a live entertainment activity – temporary, seasonal and entirely removable – to the regime envisaged for permanent settlements, like a building or a hospital. A profoundly incorrect reading from a technical and legal point of view, which is not reflected either in precedents or in national practice, and which made it impossible to maintain the original configuration of the event.
It is worth remembering some facts. The event takes place in a historic venue on the national events scene, active since 1969 and dedicated to fairs, competitions and events. In its first edition, Parco della Musica di Milano received the patronage of the Municipality of Segrate itself. The institutions had already been informed at the end of 2024 of the 2026 and subsequent seasons, and for months we have declared – formally and repeatedly – our availability for a technical discussion with the competent office. A comparison that, in fact, never took place.
Setting clear rules for those who organize events is right and proper. Transforming an authorization into an obstacle course, while for months you ask in vain for a discussion table, is another thing. We would have expected a dialogue, not a wall. But the story doesn't end here: the competent offices will clarify, and we are certain of our reasons. We will protect ourselves in all appropriate places, including for the serious economic damage suffered. What matters most, however, is that the event will take place regularly.
The matter is now behind us. We identified a solution that allowed us to save the entire event, with the exception of the two canceled shows and the two rescheduled in other Milanese venues. An administrative reconfiguration was enough to bring the area back under the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Milan. For the public, nothing changes: same place, same experience. The 19 scheduled concerts will be held regularly.
Heartfelt thanks go to the Prefecture of Milan and the Municipality of Milan for the constant and professional support guaranteed to the project, and to the Vivere Novegro Committee, which recognized in the event a value for the territory: the voice of those who live Novegro every day is proof that live culture can coexist with the life of a community and enrich it.
We announced the shows, we sold the tickets to you, and we take responsibility towards you. We are sorry for the two concerts that are missing, and we will work to ensure that something similar does not happen again. But we give you one certainty: we'll see you on stage this summer.”
The rules, in our sector, are a guarantee for everyone: however, they must be applied with competence and common sense. We say this even more so when talking about an important reality like Grande Stazione e Parco della Musica, which has always demonstrated professionalism and reliability in the field” declares Carlo Parodi, President of Assomusica.
The Vivere Novegro Committee, which has always seen the Parco della Musica concerts as a concrete development opportunity for the entire neighbourhood, is today questioning itself on the upcoming developments and opportunities that risk moving away from Novegro.» states the presidency of the Vivere Novegro Committee.
