Linkin Park: return match

Music news

Determined to treat its French audience, Linkin Park concluded its European summer tour with a memorable concert at the Stade de France.

LinkinPark has definitely gotten along well with France since his return to business. After a notable appearance at the Paris la Défense Arena in 2024 and a memorable conclusion to the latest Hellfest, here they are in front of an audience of 80,000 delirious fans in a Stade de France as full as an egg. After the experimental hip-hop of JPEG Mafia and the Japanese alternative rock One OK Rock, it is time to once again launch the mysterious intro including elements of Castle of Glass, before entering the stage with the hit “Somewhere I Belong,” which already convinces the excited audience.

If From Zero was not yet released during their last visit to the Paris region, it is widely represented here, with no less than eight pieces. The Americans can thus show all the diversity of their latest work, with the hits “The Emptiness Machine” and “Stained,” the incandescent “Casualty,” the moving “Over Each Other” or even the new “Up From The Bottom.” » The first two albums, Hybrid Theory And Meteoraalso carve out a nice part of the setlist, with the unmissable “Crawling,” “Numb” and even “In The End. »

The audience can also indulge in the required moshpits on “Two Faced,” raise their fists on “The Catalyst,” scream at the top of their lungs on “One Step Closer,” without forgetting to be solemn on “Castle of Glass.” » Always so close to his fans, Mike Shinoda, closely followed by Emily Armstrong, was particularly generous by going to the front rows, chatting with them and also taking part in the sign game.

On the performance side, if the frontwoman was in poor form at Hellfest, she can here deploy her full vocal range, screaming like never before on “Casualty” and “Heavy Is The Crown” and easily covering the parts of the late Chester Bennington, with energy in “Faint,” emotion in “Lost” or even with nuance in “What I've Done. » She even allows herself to pay homage to Led Zeppelin with the group with a few well-felt excerpts from the classic “Immigrant Song. »

Energetic, powerful and generous, LinkinPark concludes its summer European tour in optimal conditions and in front of a large and won over audience.
