Joy Division revives its history with 'Eternal (Live)'

The material is a collection of restored recordings of his most important concerts.

More than four decades after their separation, the music of Joy Division come back with Eternal (Live)material focused on bringing together some of the most outstanding performances of his career performed live, which will be released on September 25. With this release, the British group demonstrates why it continues to be one of the most influential projects within the post punk scene.

Eternal (Live) It compiles 16 performances recorded between 1978 and 1980, a period in which the quartet consolidated the dark and melancholic sound that would end up defining its musical identity. The material was restored and mastered in Abbey Road Studios using different audio sources, including recordings made from the console, radio transmissions and records created by concert attendees, which were recovered with the aim of maintaining the essence of each presentation.

One of the most notable aspects is that the collection made up of 14 albums will include its presentation in Hope & Anchor London in 1978 and his concert in Acklam Hall in 1979, performances that had never been published in their entirety. Added to this are his presentations in The Factory, Lyceum and Moonlight Cluband as a closing of the material, the last performance of the group is included, performed on May 2, 1980 in High HallBirmingham.

As a preview of this launch, it was presented “Transmission (Les Bains Douches, Paris)”. Furthermore, the arrival of the collection will coincide with one of the most important moments for the group's legacy, as it will be published months before its incorporation into the Rock & Roll Hall of Famescheduled for November 14 in Los Angeles.
