Almost ten years after the release of Mac Miller’s “The Divine Feminine”, a new edition of the album will be released by Warner on October 2nd.
The celebratory reissue expands the Pittsburgh rapper’s fourth album with three never-released songs, including Butterfliesalready available for listening.
The piece moves within the neo-soul coordinates of the album and features Thundercat on bass, adding a new piece to the archive of an artist whose musical evolution was interrupted prematurely.
THE DISC
Released in 2016, The Divine Feminine was a record built around love, intimacy and desire, with songwriting that progressively moved Miller out of the more predictable grammar of hip hop. The album featured Kendrick Lamar, Ariana Grande, CeeLo Green, Anderson .Paak and Bilal, in a sound geography that intertwined rap, soul, jazz and R&B.
The new reissue arrives together with the relaunch of Mac Miller’s official website, which collects photographs, videos and archive materials shared by friends, collaborators and people close to the artist.
Miller died in 2018 at age 26 from an accidental overdose, just weeks after releasing “Swimming,” his last album during his lifetime. After his death, two posthumous works were published: “Circles” in 2020 and “Balloonerism” in 2025.
