On the occasion of his first concert in Paris as a solo artist, Corey Taylor offered a summary of his rich career.
Fully sold out for several weeks, the Trianon is ready to host the first French concert of Corey Taylor alone. After a first part provided by the young New York fusion group Oxymorrons, it is time for the singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour to present his work to the public.
It is clear that his voice, well highlighted in the mix, is still intact. Mastering the nuances, ranging from the rage of “Before I Forget” to the sweetness of “Through Glass”. At ease with his audience, Corey Taylor is generous in his thanks and congratulations to his fans, who came in droves and are determined to make the floor of the Trianon shake, throughout the performance. The energy is palpable and intense on both sides of the fence.
On the setlist side, the singer tries to find the balance between solo songs and songs from the repertoire of Stone Sour and Slipknot. If CMF2, his new album, is duly represented, with the energetic “Post Traumatic Blues” and the immediate “Talk Sick”, the big loser remains CMFT, his first solo album, of which “Black Eyes Blue” is the only track played . A particularity which does not reduce the ardor of the fans, who maintain the tension until the final cover of Black Sabbath, “Fairies Wear Boots”, unexpected, but surprisingly apropos.
Accomplished artist, Corey Taylor shows that he still masters the stage like no other. See you at Hellfest and Olympia in 2024 to see it again in this configuration.
