Music news

With a dark and emotional atmosphere, the song marks the return of the group before returning to the stage.

A Perfect Circle is back with “Starless”the first single the group released since 2024. The band led by Maynard James Keenan and Billy Howerdel presented this song, which marks the beginning of a new stage and which, in addition, arrives before his tour of Europe and the United Kingdom after eight years of absence from those stages.

“Starless” It is built on a dark and enveloping rhythm, with a slow and dense base that is accompanied by lyrics that function as a metaphor about the fight against authoritarian systems and ideological manipulation, but also about the internal battle to not lose empathy and reason in the midst of conflicts. The sound reinforces the feeling of being trapped in an emotional and political labyrinth, desperately searching for a way back.

The song was written earlier this year and recorded in the studio Lankershim Ranchproperty of Howerdelin California. In addition, it has the participation of Josh Freese on drums, a musician who has collaborated with the lineup for years and who recently resumed activities with Nine Inch Nails. The mixing was done by Matty Greenwho has worked with artists of the stature of U2, TV On The Radio and Florence + The Machine.

After finishing his dates in Europe, A Perfect Circle will join Puscifervocalist's side project Maynard James Keenan. This tour includes some stops in Latin America, Mexico being one of them for next November 25 in the Fray Nano Stadium. With “Starless”the group presents a piece that combines delicate sounds with more explosive moments, resulting in a piece with a melancholic tone that recovers the sound essence that has characterized the band throughout its career.
