This is the first extract from the Franco-Lebanese singer and musician's next album, scheduled for September 18. This instinctive and passionate record is exclusively composed of covers by Christophe. “I chose songs that touched me. Very beautiful melodies and very beautiful lyrics » declares the artist in a press release. “I haven’t idolized him all my life. I really knew Christophe personally before knowing his work in detail” he explains, before discussing his relationship to music from childhood, when he arrived in France. “We listened more to Brassens, Brel, Ferré, Barbara. I didn't know much more than Les Mots bleus. Then we met. Christophe loved the night, young musicians, searching together…”
This meeting materialized artistically, with a Unik session by FIP in 2018, during which they recorded a 45 rpm live, then gave a concert at the Maison de la Radio. Bachar Mar-Khalifé was therefore able to discover a legend, as well as its functioning. “His melodies allow you to go very far – and even he, who seems to seek a new version with each interpretation, as if he wanted to return to the organic aspect of the song” he explains. “A researcher who, out of a need for freedom, wants to escape the image that people have of him. »
