There are different ways to pay tribute to an artist’s career; One of them is to capture their legacy in objects that represent what their proposal tries to convey. This is the case of Cardielproject made up of Samantha Ambrosio and Miguel Frainowhich together with Tricolor Skateboards presented a limited collection of boards that celebrates his identity and career.
Cardiel is a rock band formed in Mexico City that has established itself as a benchmark in the skate rock, sludge and psychedelic dub, distinguishing itself by fusing the punk and the stoner con psychedelic touches. On this occasion, the duo joins one of the pioneering brands of the skate national to result in a versatile collection, available in all shapesincluding special silhouettes like Big BoyEgg and Knife.
The graphic proposal is based on the 1999 concept of Tricolor and integrates the visual identity that characterizes Cardiel. Tricolor Skateboards was founded in Aguascalientes in 1999 with the intention of building a Mexican brand that represented the culture of skate. Over the years, it has established itself as one of the most important projects nationwide.
In this way, the collaboration results in a product designed for both those who are part of the world of skate as for the band’s followers. Furthermore, it represents the meeting between two communities that express their identity through different disciplines and that, when united, create a piece that reflects the essence of both projects.
