Previewed on WECB comes the premiere of Cursed the new single by Stefano Resta.

Stefano Resta develops a direct and layered signature pop, a flow of consciousness capable of uniting melancholic sensitivity, precision and a “palette of moods” always poised between intimacy and energy, in dialogue with Italian and international tradition, with an intimate and changing voice that moves between warmth and scratched ripples.

Between eighties synthesizers, hypnotic rhythms and luminous melodies, Cursed combines the aesthetics of the European new wave with a writing that looks to the tradition of songwriting, transforming a reflection on the present into a song with a strong emotional contrast.

Born from the need to observe our time without filters, “Maledistato” reflects on the progressive becoming accustomed to violence, polarization and the language of conflict. News images, fragments inspired by the rhetoric of talk shows and personal reflections intertwine in a story that photographs an increasingly fragmented society, where dialogue seems to leave room for noise.

The contrast between engaging and almost dancing music and harsh lyrics thus becomes the heart of the song, inviting the listener to question what we are still willing to tolerate before reacting.»
