Chat Pile announces 'Who Loves the Sun'

Music news

The quartet offered a first look at their upcoming album material.

Chat Pile is back with Who Loves the Sunhis third studio album, which will be released on September 4, 2026 under the label The Flenser. This installment will be made up of 10 songs and as a first preview, the quartet presented “Deep Blue”a single that offers a first sample of the sound of this new production.

“Deep Blue” It was the first song written for the album and served as a guide to define the atmosphere of the entire album. Furthermore, it combines the characteristic aggressiveness of Chat Pile with a more melodic and accessible structure, by incorporating influencesces of alternative rock prior to the 2000s and even some touches of new wave.

The group made up of Raygun Busch, Luther Manhole, Stin and Cap'n Ron presents this single as an exploration of current social tensions, but with an approach directed towards direct criticism. The song has a theme directed towards collective apathy, isolation and the loss of human connection in the face of an environment dominated by technology, saturated with algorithms and mired in an evident climate and economic crisis.

Who Loves the Sun will arrive after God's Country (2022) and Cool World (2024), two works that helped position Chat Pile as one of the references of contemporary noise rockraneous. While those releases explored themes such as social anxiety and structural violence, this new material focuses on the normalization of collective deterioration and the difficulty of preserving humanity within an increasingly hostile environment.
