San Siro and Tiziano Ferro have known each other since before playing in stadiums became the new normality of Italian pop. It was 2015 when he climbed it for the first time, at a time when that choice still had the specific weight of a bet and a goal.
That event represented something deeper in the relationship between Tiziano Ferro and the Italian public, an emotional contract that has lasted for a quarter of a century and which finds its greatest form tonight.
“Stadi 26” was born as a celebratory tour of 25 years of Xdono, the 2001 single that took him out of Latina and into homes across the country. But calling it celebratory risks sounding too commemorative, too greatest hits, and Ferro is keen not to be classified as such.
At 9.00pm pink clouds at the bottom, stairs to go up and down on a scenography reminiscent of Escher to begin the 32-song setlist built for San Siro.
A precise move: he opens with three pieces in a row from the last album, I'm a big, Broken heart, I pretend and I push. It's a leap of faith in the new material, or perhaps a gamble. The more urban pop of “Sono un grande” leads the way and perhaps works better live, in a stadium, than on record. Then enter I accept miracothere, and the temperature changes and Titian's emotion comes out. Accept miracles this evening!
The difference between you and me and the Olympics. And then… the gift: XXdono, inevitably the center of the show and for this reason Lazza arrives.
The generational contrast works better on record than live. Two worlds that touch each other. Ferro's stadium pop and Lazza's rap sharing the same space without either feeling out of place. Not perfect but its audience doesn't care. Sing and dance!
From here on it is pure affective archaeology: The greatest gift, I'll take a photo of you, Black evenings, I can't explain it, Love is a simple thing. Songs that people know word for word, and it shows. There is always the risk, in these stadium formats, that the visual design, the lights, the big screens become the concert and the songs the soundtrack. Ferro chooses the other path: the setlist is built to make people sing, not to amaze.
The top is already fired, that's fine. The second part from Sea destination onwards it still moves the same even if with some mah (Dance for me leaves me a bit perplexed).
And I was very happy, Clumsy and And it's dark outside they immediately put things back in their place.
Tiziano Ferro has built his career on a precise idea of what it means to make pop in Italy: without irony, without detachment, with a sincerity that in certain moments borders on recklessness. He is not an artist who defends himself from emotion, and the public knows it. San Siro is not just full tonight: it is present, in the most physical sense of the term.
And tomorrow we repeat…

THE BAND
Accompanying the singer-songwriter on this journey is the band led by Luca Scarpa (musical director of the show) composed of GARY NOVAK on drums, TIM LEFEBVRE on bass, COREY SANCHEZ on guitar, DAVIDE TAGLIAPIETRA on guitar, GIANLUCA BALLARIN on keyboards and ALESSANDRO OREFICE on piano.
On stage, alongside the musicians, there is also a dance troupe (led by the choreographer Carlos Kamizele) ready to make some of the songs in the set list even more alive.
To welcome musicians and dancers, the stage created from the vision of the artistic director Claudio Santucci and the entire Gio Forma team, three large mega screens that stretch for over 60 meters in length and 12 in height. Completing the stage is a 24 meter long platform that allows Tiziano to go and hug his audience, a hug that Ferro has been waiting for since his last tour in 2023.
The direction of the show is entrusted to Cristian Biondani and the Tonico Production team.
The project is completed by clothes designed by Nick Cerioni, a series of garments designed specifically for Ferro and his songs that will change during the tour dates. The clothes are made by Etro, Golden Goose, Pence, GStar, Taboo and Dr Martens.
The attention to the outfits is not only that dedicated to Tiziano Ferro but also to the dance troupe. The dancers' clothes were designed and created by costume designer Jo Maria Contini.
