From The Writing's on the Wall to Destiny Fulfilled
Earlier this week, the iconic group celebrated the anniversary of its breakthrough album, The Writing's on the Wall. When it was released, Destiny's Child was still a quartet: Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett. On Instagram, the group published the album cover with this caption: “The accounts were kept. The rules have been written. Classics are born. We celebrate The Writing's on the Wall, released on a day like this in 1999.”
After Roberson and Luckett were replaced by Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin in 2000, Franklin left after a few months and the group became a trio — releasing their third album, the following year, Survivor. Destiny's Child released their fifth and final album, Destiny Fulfilledin 2004. Since then, fans nostalgic for this era and the unique soul sound of the group, briefly reformed on stage last summer, have been waiting for new music.
