Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean to headline Global Citizen Festival 2026

Music news

Members of the Fugees will celebrate The Score’s 30th anniversary at the festival, which will also feature Lenny Kravitz, John Legend, Lainey Wilson and Shaboozey.

The Global Citizen Festival will return to the Great Lawn in Central Park, New York on Saturday, September 26, with a full day of concerts from Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean, Lenny Kravitz, John Legend, Lainey Wilson, Shaboozey and Tomorrow x Together.

Hill and Jean will headline this free event with an anniversary celebration of the Fugees’ second and final album, The Score. This instantly classic record contained their iconic cover of Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly,” alongside the singles “Ready or Not” and “Fu-Gee-La.” The Fugees had celebrated the album’s 25th anniversary as a trio in 2021, with plans for an extensive tour that never really happened. Since then, their third member, Pras Michel, has begun a fourteen-year prison sentence for money laundering, illegal lobbying and campaign finance violations.

But the show will go on. This year, Global Citizen is holding its annual New York festival as part of a campaign to help more children go to school, support farmers to feed their communities, and provide electricity to millions of people around the world. Hugh Jackman will host the event, also featuring appearances from Rachel Brosnahan and Gayle King.

Wilson added: “I believe we can all do something to make the world a better place, so I’m proud to perform at the Global Citizen Festival for the first time. It’s a chance to come together and support important work around children’s education, farmers and food security, and access to electricity — and have a lot of fun along the way. »

Fans can get tickets to the Global Citizen Festival by entering a free ticket lottery or making a $25 charitable donation, which instantly gives them a ticket.
