Today, Sunday 27 September Marc Almond arrives in Parma as part of the XX edition of Il Rumore Del Lutto Festival for the only Italian date of his tour.
Historic voice of Soft Cell, Almond has built a career far from categories, crossing electronica, chanson, cabaret, folk and musical theater with an unmistakable interpretative style.
The concert will retrace the different seasons of his journey, from Soft Cell songs to solo production, with inevitable attention to Tainted Love, the song which in 1981 transformed the British duo into one of the symbolic names of international synth-pop.
The live event also comes a few days after the publication of DanceteriaSoft Cell’s last studio album, completed before the death of Dave Ball, Almond’s historic artistic partner.
THE FESTIVAL
The day of the Il Rumore del Lutto Festival opens with the fifth edition of All’Imbrunire. Selected Readings, literary review hosted by the Monumental Cemetery of Parma. The Lode walk where the light is silent is scheduled, led by Giorgia Tribuiani together with Alice Pisu and Antonello Saiz.
Promoted by Segnali di Vita Aps, with the scientific and artistic direction of the thanatologist, trainer and journalist Maria Angela Gelati and the journalist, music critic and photographer Marco Pipitone, the festival addresses the theme of death and mourning through concerts, meetings, conferences, performances, walks, retreats, death cafés and workshops.
The 2026 edition develops around the word PRAISE, understood as a practice of recognition and gratitude towards what precedes and accompanies existence. The program looks in particular at the figure of Francis of Assisi, on the eight hundredth anniversary of his death, taking his thoughts as a starting point for a reflection on fragility, care, relationships and interdependence between living beings.
