Music news

The Chilean musician presents the first preview of old ways vol. 1.

Music has the power to become a refuge for those looking for a space to reflect or simply take a break. That idea is taken up again NIKOKONTproject of the Chilean musician Nicolas Contreras, who through “old ways”presents a single with an introspective tone that also works as the first preview of his next material, old ways vol. 1.

With this release, the artist consolidates a proposal where folklore, contemporary pop and introspection coexist naturally. The atmosphere of the song stands out for its nostalgic tone, achieved from familiar images such as an out-of-tune guitar, a Christ in the room, a cigar and warm colors that evoke a quiet afternoon; everyday elements that invite you to reconnect with what usually goes unnoticed in everyday life.

Through this single, the singer-songwriter raises a reflection on the speed with which life passes in the face of an environment that never stops and to which we must constantly adapt, often leaving aside what we feel or experience. With “old ways”, NIKOKONT invites us to pause to live in the present and appreciate those small moments that help build our identity; Thus, what seemed insignificant takes on a different value and becomes a reminder of who we are and where we want to go.

The production maintains a warm and close sound, where lThe soft guitars create a slow rhythm that conveys a feeling of nostalgia, which is supported by lyrics that talk about finding stability in the simple, even when everything around you seems to fall apart.
