Oasis’ day at the Venice Film Festival has arrived.
Today, Saturday 5 September, Liam and Noel Gallagher arrive at the Lido to present Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger, the documentary directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace which chronicles the British band’s reunion tour, out of competition.
The film takes its title from one of the most recognizable songs in the history of Oasis and brings to the big screen the chronicle of the tour which marked the sensational recomposition, at least on stage, of the Gallagher couple. The production sees Steven Knight in the role of producer, while the theatrical release is set for September 10th.
The presence of the two brothers is among the most anticipated events of this edition of the Show, also because Liam and Noel do not exactly belong to the category of celebrities built for the red carpet. Their Venetian appearance therefore takes on an interest that goes beyond the simple cinematic catwalk: every movement of the Gallaghers, especially in such a delicate phase of their artistic history, is inevitably read as a possible clue to the future of Oasis.
THE TOUR
And the future of the band fuels the most insistent hypotheses. In recent days Oasis have published some short teasers on social media which have pushed fans to wonder about the group’s next moves. The most accredited interpretation is that the videos can anticipate information related to the dates of the next tour, perhaps through references to the cities that will be involved.
Venice could therefore become the ideal place to unravel at least part of the mystery. Among the fans’ expectations is above all that of finally knowing the possible Italian dates of the next concerts. At the moment no official confirmation has arrived, but the coincidence between the presence of the Gallaghers at the Lido and the teasers published by the band makes the wait even more electric.
