Marta-Del-Grandi-Dream-Life-album-2026

Can aesthetic delicacy be composed in just over half an hour of sound? “Dream Life”Marta Del Grandi's new album, seems to respond with a song suspended between reality and imagination.

It is a record of pure contemporary art, which fluctuates between introspection and avant-garde pop momentum. An indie dimension, veiled in melancholy, which blends with evanescent synthesizers and melodies oscillating between joy and regret. Each track is a fragment of a vision, a multidimensional soundscape crossed by a serene disillusionment, where aspirations and desires stretch towards infinity, as if the sky were the film of a dream without borders.

My previous album Selva it had a poetic and bucolic nature – in my mind each song is like an oil painting. Dream Life instead it has a more contemporary approach, with lyrics that touch on political and social themes, a more explicit personal story and a more defined pop sound. It's more like a photo book, sharper and more detailed.”

The ten songs open up a broad sonic horizon, crossing different influences, sensations, intuitions and suggestions.

Talking Heads and Laurie Anderson can be heard on the single Antarcticaa song that addresses contemporary ethical dilemmas and shakes you out of your comfort zone; Radiohead emerge in Shoe Shaped Cloudstudy of a drifting relationship; and an echo of Genesis hovers in the instrumental Gold Mine.

But Dream Life it is not limited to contemplation: it pulsates, trembles, illuminates. The title track explores the quantum leap between dream and reality, between ambition and possibility, while Neon Lightswith rough guitars and a wandering bass, charts a path of rebellious self-exploration, immersed in symphonic swirls and fleeting intuitions. Then there are pop gems like Alpha Centauriwhich ignite adolescent nostalgia wrapped in the sound of a distant tuba sighing a counter-melody suspended in time, and intense and dense vocal dialogues as in the duet with Fenne Kuppens in Some Days.

Dream Life it is a restless dream, a category leap in Marta's music, a passage of stylistic maturity that recognizes how much the future escapes us between shipwrecks of political themes and intimate confessions. A caress to the soul that combines the rigor of a poster with the delicacy of blown glass.
