SANTANA in Italy in 2027: two concerts in Pordenone and Lucca (Info and Tickets)

Music news

Carlos Santana returns to Italy in summer 2027 with two concerts of the Planet of Free Will Global Tour 2027.

The guitarist will perform on July 17th at the Pordenone Blues Festival, at Parco Valentino, and on July 18th at the Lucca Summer Festival, in the setting of the Historic Walls.

Santana’s guitar has built a recognizable language through the contamination between rock, blues, jazz and Afro-Latin rhythms. A journey that spans over five decades of music, from early albums such as Abraxas to the global success of Supernatural, released in 1999. The latter marked one of the luckiest moments of his career, winning nine Grammy Awards in a single evening, including those for Album of the Year and Record of the Year thanks to “Smooth”.

Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and awarded the Kennedy Center Honors, Santana has received numerous awards throughout his career, including the Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2026. His musical signature remains linked to the ability to bring together different traditions without giving up the centrality of the guitar, between blues phrasing, improvisation and Latin pulsations.

In recent years, the musician has continued to explore new collaborations, also working with artists of more recent generations. The 2027 tour will bring this repertoire back to Italian stages, with two dates that put the relationship between rhythm, improvisation and sonic identity back at the centre.
