The guitar virtuosity of Joe Satriani and Steve Vai inaugurates the program of the sixteenth edition of Tener-a-mente Solstizio, the Vittoriale Festival.

The SatchVai Band will be the protagonist on Tuesday 13 July 2027, at 9.15 pm, on the stage of the Vittoriale Amphitheater in Gardone Riviera, for an evening dedicated to the project which brings together the two protagonists of instrumental rock guitar for the first time in an album.

At the center of the concert will be The Sea of Emotion, the first full-length studio album jointly signed by the two musicians. A record that seals an artistic and personal relationship that began in 1973, when Steve Vai, still very young, began taking lessons from Satriani. Over fifty years of friendship, collaborations and musical crossovers, including the famous G3 tours, finally find a shared recording dimension.

Initially born with the intention of recording a single song, The Sea of Emotion gradually transformed into a ten-track work. Two distinctive guitar languages, capable of communicating without giving up their respective identities, compare themselves between rock, experimentation and melodic research.

We had been planning it since 1973. Only we were doing it unconsciously”, said Steve Vai, ironically summarizing the long gestation of the project. Satriani instead underlined how stimulating it was to discover the different compositional methods of the two artists, transforming their divergences into a creative resource.

Produced together with keyboardist Eric Caudieux, the album involves a lineup of leading musicians, including drummers Gregg Bissonette, Jeremy Colson, Kenny Aronoff, Matt Chamberlain and Mike Mangini, joined by bassists Billy Sheehan, Bryan Beller, Philip Bynoe, Matt Bissonette, Marco Mendoza and Henrik Linder.
