Tori Amos joins a list of legends reworking classics with the producer Trevor Horn. In a dramatic and melancholic surrender, she breathes new life into “Swimming Pools (Drank)” of Kendrick Lamar.
In what Trevor Horn called “an anthem of the 21st century”, Tori Amos adds his 70s and 90s fusion touch to the American rapper’s song. This version rediscovers cinematography, in the words of its producer, its fun and dynamic lines. Now in the voice of Amoswhich, with an air of tragedy, gives a 180° turn to the creation of Kendrick Lamar.
This version belongs to the album Echoes – Ancient & Modern from the producer Trevor Horn singer of The Buggles and member of Art Of Noisewhich also includes collaborations with Seal, Rick Astley, Iggy Pop, Jack Lukeman and Lady Blackbird: in classics like “Owner Of A Lonely Heart”, “Personal Jesus”, “Drive” and “Smells Like A Teen Spirit.”
This project continues with the 2019 album, Trevor Horn Reimagines The Eighties, where he also seeks a new meaning for the most notable hits of the 80s. A time in which Horn He was the producer of some of the greatest classics.
