Music news

The single previews his upcoming studio album.

Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats is back with “Don't Let It Control You”a single that marks the beginning of a new stage and previews what will be their next studio material. After a period of experimentation with his concept album Nell' Ora Blu (2024), the group led by Kevin Starrs returns with a release that takes up seventies influences and also reaffirms its identity within contemporary rock.

The song, released through his own label Killer Candy Recordsis the first single that promotes their next album, where the band maintains that heavy rock essence that characterizes them. The lyrics refer to preserving personal autonomy and not allowing fear or manipulation to take control, placing emphasis on the internal struggle to maintain the direction of one's life.

To accompany this premiere, the group presented a music video filmed in Super 8which gives it an analog touch. The clip was produced by Tinnitus Productionsa house specialized in low-budget aesthetics and classic horror films that complements the atmosphere built in the song, which is supported by a sound with garage overtones to create a hypnotic atmosphere that mixes the rawness of proto-punk with elements of doom and psych rock.

Since its formation in 2009, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats has been characterized by taking sounds from the past and reinterpreting them under their own vision, this has allowed them to consolidate themselves as one of the most solid proposals within modern psychedelic rock. With this new single, the band not only confirms its return, but also makes it clear that its evolution continues even after several years of experience.
