Ed Sheeran, Dave Grohl and John Mayer reunite for “Drive” at Kimmel

Ed Sheeran presented “Drive” on the set of Jimmy Kimmel Liveand he was very well looked after. The singer was joined by Dave Grohl, John MayerBlake Slatkin, Rami Jaffee and Pino Palladino for a lively rendition of the piece, written for Brad Pitt's film, F1.

Blake Slatkin, Rami Jaffee and Pino Palladino also joined the musician for this performance of the title from the film “F1”.

This short-lived supergroup played the rock title in front of a double screen showing extracts from the film. Mayer accompanied Sheeran on guitar while Grohl played drums. Two singers also joined them for harmonies.

“Drive” appears on F1 the Albumreleased in conjunction with the film last June. The album features 17 tracks, with contributions from Sheeran, Doja Cat, Burna Boy, Raye, Tate McRae, Don Toliver, Madison Beer, Rosé, Tiësto and Chris Stapleton. Sheeran had given a preview of the track before its release, noting that he had taken “lots of fun to do” this song alongside Grohl and Mayer.

A new musical era

Sheeran's latest studio album, Playwas released in September. The album was recorded in the various locations visited by the singer-songwriter and completed in Goa, India. “Play is an album that was made as a direct response to the darkest period of my life.”Sheeran shared in a statement. “Coming out of all that, I just wanted to create joy and technicolor, and explore the cultures of the countries where I was filming. HAS”

Play marks the first installment in a new series of albums for Sheeran. It will be followed by Rewind, Fast Forward And Stopcontinuing the symbolic tradition that he had started with More, Multiply, Divide, Subtract And Equals.

In November, the singer launched a special program on Netflix, One Shot With Ed Sheeranshot with the director ofAdolescencePhilip Barantini. This short film shows the singer walking through New York in real time, playing his songs on subway trains and various locations around the city, leaving a trail of stunned fans behind him.
