Asia Minor reached Mexican ears in 2023 with an album that went unnoticed, but that over time took on inexplicable strength. This is a Chilean band that has always been musically connected, in a disruptive and devastating way, with nature; not in a destructive way, but in a contemplative way.
The saddest and most courageous lyrics, within what has been written in Chile recently, have come from the pen of Jorge Scheuermann along with the piercing melodies of Diego Seguel, Aníbal Vergara and Christopher Mora. The four Asia Minor They are earthly, real beings, with class consciousness, concerned about their environment, who aspire to beat the norm and make a living from music, from their music.
This 2026, Asia Minor shared his second studio album with songs that have mutated over time and that have been performed live in different versions over all these years. Although there are already songs for a third and fourth album, producing independent music is not cheap and, while working, fighting and saving, there is a living testimony called Mista sound chronicle that we can listen to and repeat over and over again.
In it Enola Gay we had clearer references, we shared a lot more music, and in Mist It was flowing and each one expressing the influences they wanted. That comes from the time of playing together, seeing each other very often and the affection and familiarity that we have developed. We are almost neighbors. And it is super nice to share; It ends up being your second family. Mist “It was guided by intuition and non-verbal language.”
During their visit to Mexico, we spoke with the band from Temuco about the album Mistthe complicity between them, non-verbal communication and the idea of letting the music mature and take its time.
