Jason Derulo dares with Michael Bublé in ‘Spicy Margarita’

Music news

There is no challenge that can resist Jason Derulo and this is demonstrated by the American soloist whenever he faces a new project. The singer and composer from Florida, in addition to being an extraordinary dancer, wanted to give his sound a twist and sign one of the greatest crooners of contemporary music for his new song: Spicy Margarita.

We talk, of course, about Michael Buble, an artist with whom a priori he does not seem to share much musically. Because, if we think about Jason Derulo’s hits, we can’t help but remember very powerful tracks that fuse pop, R&B and even dance music. In recent years, we’ve seen him collaborate with hiphop totems like Nicky Minaj or Snoop Doggbut also with pop artists like Meghan Trainor, with whom he launched less than a month ago Hands on me.

However, in his new song, Spicy MargaritaDerulo and Bublé join forces to give us a song that uses the classic sample Sway of Dean Martin. The result is a very playful and fun review, which will be included on Jason Derulo’s fifth studio album: Nu Kingwhose launch is scheduled for February 16.

Jason Derulo and Michael Buble

Derulo himself has said about his collaboration with Michael Bublé: “Michael’s music has been an important part of my life. So I put ‘Spicy Margarita’ and he asked me, “Is it okay if we add some orchestration?” I said, “Sure!” “His version of it was incredible. It was exactly how I imagined it. It has a Latin feel with a little bit of Brazilian funk”, explained in a press release.

For Canadian idol Michael Bublé: “The roots of what I do and what I love – the classics, the Great American Songbook – fit perfectly with everything Jason is creating musically. Mixing old school standards with a pop style modern was just a matter of time, and I knew that if anyone was going to get it, it would be Jason,” he stressed.

About Jason Derulo

Jason Derulo began his musical career in the mid-2000s, although it was not until 2009 when the artist began to gain great notoriety thanks to his single Whatcha say, which achieved great success. Then the same fate followed such emblematic songs as Talk Dirty, In my head or Want to want me or Trumpets.

In his early days, Derulo was compared a lot to artists like Michael Jackson, due to his marked R&B style compositions, his great voice and his way of moving on stage. Without a doubt, it has been a great influence on the musician, as have been Usher, Prince, will.i.am, Timbaland, Pitbull or Sean Paul.
