Tame Impala releases a psychedelic version of “Hummer”

The single belongs to the album that pays tribute to The Smashing Pumpkins.

It is always a good time to remember those classics that made history. Proof of this is Sending Hearts to All My Dearies – A Tribute to The Smashing Pumpkinsa compilation album that brought together various artists to reinterpret some of the most emblematic songs of The Smashing Pumpkinsbeing the participation of Tame Impala the first to be presented.

On this occasion, Kevin Parker joins a project that pays tribute to one of the most influential bands of the 90s alternative rock scene with its own version of “Hummer”topic included in Siamese Dream (1993). This release becomes the first single from the compilation and is a more psychedelic and ethereal reinterpretation that is reminiscent of the characteristic sound of Tame Impala.

“Hummer” It is one of the most remembered songs of The Smashing Pumpkinswhich stands out for the use of distorted guitars that accompany introspective lyrics that explore the search for authenticity, internal struggle, disillusionment and the longing for happiness. The result was an energetic single with a melancholic air that, in the hands of Tame Impalaacquired a more relaxed and involving atmosphere, without losing the essence of the original theme.

This material will be available on August 14, 2026 through Sumerian Records and will have a total of 15 songs. In addition to Tame Impalathe project will include the participation of Yonaka, Alice Glass, The Midnight, Palaye Royale and Carpenter Brutamong others.
